The one recipe I have made consistently for years and without fail the person(s) for whom I have made it says, “This is the best meatloaf I ever tasted!”
This recipe is a classic from my childhood and I believe it originally came from my mother’s father. The secret is cooking it on top of the stove, thus retaining the moisture. I sometimes pour red wine over the top if I have a bottle open. It is very, very good. And I have tried substituting ground turkey or chicken…it just doesn’t work…it’s gotta be beef
Another mystery recipe…but any recipe that includes the directive to weep with delight certainly rates inclusion.
From home…I know there are many versions of stuffed mushrooms but when I was growing up this is how I remember my Mother and Father doing it. Simple but good.
This recipe came from Uncle Wayne’s aunts from long ago. Aunt Karen and I used to make them for every event…shower, party, whatever. They sound a little weird but everyone loves them.
